Willy Wonka Peel-A-Pop

This is a sponsored post.

It is summertime and I have been busy, busy, busy! My son is taking his annual trip to “Camp Grandma” and I wanted to send him off with a bang so we had a party. Although we were a party of two, we had a grand time and he enjoyed the featured treat the Wonka Peel-a-Pop. This frozen confection brought a serious smile to his face. But before I go any further, I must tell you that one of my favorite movies ever is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. And to be clear, I am NOT talking about the Johnny Depp version(love him but I need Gene Wilder in my life)!

If you are familiar with the film (who isn’t?), you know that Willy Wonka is responsible for all types of fun and creative treats. All Wonka treats are inspired by Willy Wonka, and new Wonka Peel-a-Pop in my opinion is fun on a stick! You see, when you open this treat it looks like a banana on a stick, you can lick it and unpeel the edible “peel” to reveal banana or vanilla creamy filling (depending on the flavor that you choose- grape vanilla or banana vanila).

This was fun! My son liked the experience of “peeling” and loved the creamy pop. He was so excited that he asked for a second one and I had no qualms about it because each one is between 60-70 calories depending on the flavor. Both of us thought peeling the pop was fun but we weren’t thrilled with the taste of consistency of the “peel’. This was perfectly okay because we were able to completely peel the pop and enjoy the center.

I think this is a fun treat for a party, if you are a regular reader of my blog you know that I am more of a healthy eater but will highlight treats that my son enjoys. We have a ton of these pops now at Grandma’s house and while my son is at Camp Grandma, he will have Wonka Peel-A-Pops to help bring a smile on his face on the hot days of summer!
